Is that not a nice picture of Lithuanian Easter eggs or what, I ask you.........THANK YOU Ms. Siga of Huston. So how do you say EGGS in Lithuanian?......Well it's:..KIAUSINIS (1 egg), KIAUSINIAI (2 or more eggs) It is an interesting word because it comes from the word "KIAUSAS" which means "Skull or top of your head"....Both, the egg and the top our our heads, are fragile......made to be treated with respect.......Intersting huh? My wife says I remind her of the movie "My Greek Wedding"

Okey students, we will be talking "months" this session: This month is JUNE, everybody knows that you say.........Okey, but what is it in Lithuanian?....Well ir is BIRZELIS so there: Beer(gel)is. What does JUNE mean in english? A girls name? Something to do with a long dead Greek God?....I have no idea. But BIRZELIS, o ho ho, has meanings: #1 It means time to take your produce to market (BIRZA)...neat huh? #2 It also could be associated with the blooming of a willow tree (Berzas), this is a stretch on my part, but it could be....Oh well. Next month is July in Lithuanian it is Liepa...You will get a kick out of my take of its definition......Talk to you next month

Cant you say Tridesimdtdu for 32? Ohhh man, it's been 10 almost exactly since i last went to Lithuania and last spoke lithuanian, this is a good refresher for me. Cant wait to see if I can become fluent again. It's tough when there's no one to speak it with. Thanks for the tutorials!

..... This is from Sgt. (E-5) Truskunas, retired, your totor: Eric, my boy, one more comment like "Trisdesims du" and we will have to promote you to the head of the class. (he he) It is too far for you to travel to Dallas but Huston is near by and Mrs. Siga there hosts all sort of activities. Get in touch with her and she will update you on what's happening. On the other hand in Dallas we have a gathering twice a month (see posted schedule). WELCOME TO TEXAS

Well well. To be exact , 32 in Lithuanian IS "Trisdesimt du". Maybe there is some rare and not-explored yet dialect that uses "Desimt desimt desimt du", but its users must be really well versed in hiding And, Eric, if you don't mind traveling to Houston, we will let you know when we have our next picnic. How long will you be stationed in San Antonio?

Okey, break is over and we are talking months again. July in Lithuanian is LIEPA, pronounced: L=like Lip, IE like Yea, PA like ma & pa. What does it mean? Well it is another "tree" month. Liepa is Linden tree and this time of the year it blooms in Lithuania. Neat eh? You look around and see a blooming Linden tree, well, you know right away it must be JULY/LIEPA. Hey, it's a small country Lithuania is, you work with what you have...
