There is a long standing Texas tradition of gathering. Cowboys do it, Civil War buffs do it, families do it and Lithuanians do it. Lithuanians not only do it, they like doing it.ThumbsUp
Sooo, is there anyone out there who would like to organize a "gathering" anywhere in Texas?

I'm traveling to Huston to this Nov. 1st Lithuanian picnic. Those that would like to join me with a car are welcome....Give me ring or a post. If you are traveling by yourself, once there, look for a lithuanian flag, which I am taking along.

What is a lithuanian flag? you say. Well it's 3 horizontal stripes: top stripe is YELLOW, middle is GREEN and bottom is RED...ThumbsUp

You people missed a good one. It was fun, fun, fun, in Huston at the Lithuanian fest. Don't miss the next one that is coming in December.
That one is called "Kucios". What is that you ask? Well, it's a traditional meatless 12 course dinner celebrating Christmas....

Aren't you glad you asked?Sneaky

1).....Tomorrow, December 13 (Sunday) for those living in or near Huston, there is a gathering at University of Huston in the Mediterranean Rm.#91 of University Center, Underground. Starts at 12:00 noon sharp. Meet, greet and eat Lithuanian food and celebrate "Kucias"....see post #5 for what is Kucios. For details and map go to www.hustonlithuanians.org.........Have FUN!!!

Lithuanian Independence Day celebration in Dallas

And it was fun. For a Tuesday evening, a work day, that so many came, 20-22 plus. We had kugelis, several pies, pizza, a cake with a Lithuanian flag, sandwiches, casseroles of all sorts, pop, gira and wine. We sang, read a poem, mada a proclamation and bonded......It was good, it was great, but it would have been better if YOU were there......

Thank you all for coming and we thank all that had us in mind
Lithuanian/American Community of DFW
